Budapest Here We Are!
If you haven't been to Budapest we'd suggest you stop in for a few days if you're in the area. We only had 2 days to see town and that was our mistake as we needed more. It made for long days getting out by 10 am and back home by midnight each day. The weather was great and we stayed at "The Backpacker Hostel" which we would highly recommend. Budapest is split by the Danube River and the Buda part is the hilly section, with the castles and an old town and Pest is the flat section with Parliament and a happening night scene.
The mass transit is great with subway, trolly and bus system. It ran at full service from 4 am-midnight and from midnight to 4 am with bus service. We got a Budapest card that allowed us to ride all mass transit at any time and it also allowed us free passage to all the museums of which there seemed to be thousands.

At this church near the castle, we sat and listened to a choir practicing in the cathedral. It was awesome! The acoustics were phenomenal. It moved the spirit even though we didnt know any of the songs. |
Fuji, casually preaching to Jim at the alter in a small chapel in the castle. |
Jim, a bit more passionate about what he has to say, got himself preaching to GW and cronies about their affairs in Iraq Wrong city Jim!? It's Budapest not Bagdad! Oh well, someone thought it was good and sent him up to the heavenly pulpit to preach some more! (See below) |
Preacher Jim. This castle is eerie-he's beginning to glow! |
